Time-limited and long-term psychotherapy

People come to therapy with different needs, expectations and circumstances. Some may seek support around a particular difficulty or life situation, while others may wish to engage in longer-term psychotherapy focused on deeper relational and emotional ways of relating.

Time-limited therapy can offer space to reflect on immediate challenges, develop greater awareness and begin understanding difficulties that may feel overwhelming.

Long-term psychotherapy allows more space to explore longstanding relational difficulties, emotional experiences and ways of relating over time. This can include understanding how past experiences continue to shape present ways of thinking, feeling and relating.

Therapy is not always a linear process. At times it may bring clarity or movement quite quickly, while deeper emotional and relational change often develops gradually through ongoing therapeutic work.

In my experience, sustainable change takes time, particularly when we want that change to become more fully integrated into how we experience ourselves, others and the world around us.
