How therapy works
Beginning therapy can sometimes feel unfamiliar or uncertain. I see therapy as a relationship-centered process, where reflection, collaboration and regular engagement support greater awareness and change over time. Below is an outline of how therapy may develop.
First contact
You’re welcome to get in touch by email or phone. We can arrange a brief initial conversation to explore what brings you to therapy and whether working together may feel appropriate.
Initial sessions
Initial sessions offer a space to begin understanding yourself, your experiences, and your relationships. Many people find that feeling comfortable speaking openly in therapy develops gradually over time.
Ongoing work
Therapy involves regular sessions, creating continuity and space to explore experiences, relationships and patterns over time. Thoughts, feelings, memories and reflections may continue to emerge between sessions, becoming part of the therapeutic process. Meaningful therapeutic work often involves openness, curiosity and a willingness to reflect on experiences both within and beyond the session. Therapy may also involve exploring experiences, thoughts and feelings that feel painful, unfamiliar or emotionally challenging. My approach is grounded in reflection, collaboration and ongoing therapeutic exploration.
Sessions and arrangements
Sessions are 60 minutes and available in person and online. Fees and practical arrangements can be discussed during the initial consultation.
